We’re looking for an experienced outdoor instructor to join our team for 5 months over the summer.

POST  TITLE:   Seasonal Outdoor Instructor

LOCATION:   15 Shore Street, Lossiemouth, Moray NE Scotland

DURATION:  19th March to 17th August 2012 (5 months)

SALARY:   £18,000.00 per annum pro rata paid monthly in arrears (£7,500 for 5 months)

ACCOUNTABLE TO:  Chief Instructor

NON RESIDENTIAL: There is no accommodation provided with this post.

CLOSING DATE: 13th February 2012

INTERVIEW DATE: 23rd February 2012

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

ESSENTIAL:

  • Level 2 coach.  Either UKCC or BCU/SCA in Open Canoe or Kayak
  • SPA (Single Pitch Award)
  • TCL (Trail Cycle Leader)
  • Full driving licence with D1(minibus)
  • Current First Aid Award (2 day)

DESIRABLE:

  • SCA (BCU) level 3 coach in open canoeing or inland kayaking. Or UKCC Level 2 with Moderate water in Open canoe or Kayak
  • GNAS (Archery Leader)
  • Bushcraft (experience of running sessions)
  • Summer ML
  • Full Driving Licence with D1+ E (Mini Bus with trailer test)
  • Other awards and qualifications (e.g. SRT 1, Surf Aid and Rescue Award)
  • Child Protection Training

MAJOR  TASKS:

  1. Instructing and leading groups in a range of activities.
  2. Assist in the maintenance and management of equipment, stores and minibus
  3. Maintain a positive and supportive culture.

WORKING CONDITIONS (some basic information). 

  • Fixed 5 month contract with a probationary period of 1 month
  • 37.5 hours per week including regular evening and weekend working
  • 10 days leave during the contract period
  • An equipment allowance of £100
  • £50 contribution towards mobile phone costs
  • Support and supervision is provided by the Chief Instructor
  • In-house training and development opportunities
  • Please note this is a non-residential post
