iain.jpgIain Jamieson: Executive Chairman

Iain started his career as a ski and sailing instructor in the private sector. He then worked with a local authority for 27 years and was Regional Organiser for Outdoor Education from 1982 to 1995.

Iain initially established Outf!t-Moray and is now the Chairman with responsibility for overall strategic direction.

He holds an MBA from The Robert Gordon University and is qualified in a number of outdoor activities. He is a keen alpine and telemark skier and a Coxswain with the Moray Gig.

Ross Boardman: Outdoor Project LeaderRoss Boardman: Chief Instructor

After becoming an outdoor instructor in 1998, Ross originally moved to Scotland for a summer season back in 2001 - but fell in love with the place and hasn't left yet! He's lived and worked all over Scotland at a variety of different Outdoor Centres and is passionate about outdoor education and the environment.

Outside of work, Ross loves nothing more than spending time outdoors, exploring uninhabited islands by sea kayak, hurtling downhill on a mountain bike or making fresh tracks with his snow board.

Ross joined Outf!t Moray in August 2006 and is responsible for developing the programme and delivering outdoor programmes to young people at Outf!t. He has a great empathy with young people and has a broad range of outdoor qualifications.

Richard Nawrocki: Finance ManagerRichard Nawrocki: Finance Manager

From a business background, Richard used to run an Import/Export Company with an office in Warsaw, Poland. As a result, he has brought his communication and logistical skills to the fore with Outf!t. Richard is responsible for keeping the charity afloat by taking care of the continual funding applications and looking after the project’s budget. The challenge with the budget is twofold. Firstly as the project is busier we employ more instructors and they then clamour for more kit! Most days Richard is also our Nominated Duty Person (in case of difficulties or emergencies) for all instructors out on activities.

Formerly a keen powder skier until a serious knee injury robbed him of that pastime, he now enjoys walking in the hills of Moray and the Highlands.

Steve Bate: Outdoor InstructorSteve Bate: Outdoor Instructor

Steve, originally from New Zealand moved to Moray many moons ago. After a stint travelling the world, Steve like many others fell in love with the Scottish Mountains and Moray coast line. He came to the Outfi!t-Moray team as their first trainee, and we still can’t get rid of him! His responsibilities include the day to day groups, the Youth Justice Programme, helping out the volunteers and getting in the way around the store.

In Steve’s spare time you can be sure to find him hanging off rock faces, puffing up hill on his single speed mountain bike, in and out of canoes or trying to catch waves on his surf board. All with a big smile on his face.

Caroline Saunders: AdministratorCaroline Saunders: Administrator

Caroline moved up to Scotland in 2005, after working in industry for 12 years in Nottingham. She decided to do something completely different with her life, and after taking a course in outdoor education at Moray House in Edinburgh, she now works part time for Outfit Moray, looking after evaluation, marketing and some general admin. She is also an Outfit volunteer, working with young people in the outdoors on Outfit’s Community Regeneration programme.

In the outdoors, she enjoys climbing, walking, skiing, taking lots of photos, and is a huge fan of chocolate and anything orange.

Dan Hogg: Outdoor InstructorDan Hogg: Outdoor Instructor

Dan is the newest recruit in the Outfi!t-Moray team moving down from the Orkney Isles. He has experience of a variety of outdoor activities and has worked in a number of locations around the UK. Dan’s main responsibilities at Outf!t are working on group sessions and negotiating lengthy holidays. He’s is a keen climber and can be found spending much of his free time falling off the crags of Britain, looking scared whilst paddling canoes and kayaks or attempting to hang on to his surf board.
