Bike Maintenance Classes

We’ve teamed up with Varis Training in Forres to bring you more fantastic bike maintenance classes. You can choose between a basic entry level course which looks at repairing punctures, adjusting brakes and tuning gears, or our advanced course which builds on your existing knowledge and covers things from drive chain replacements, to headsets and hubs.

Courses are organised in small groups with a maximum of six people with a trained bike mechanic on hand to take you through the course. It’s a great way to learn new skills whilst meeting fellow bikers in the area, and also a great gift idea..!

Outfit Moray Team Spey Decent

The first weekend in May saw twelve of the Outfit team paddle down the Spey. Over the course of three days we travelled from Boat of Balliefurth down to Spey Bay. It was a fantastic trip which saw us encounter every type of weather Scotland has to offer, including chittering in the snow to leaving for home with some sun burnt faces. We had one swimmer, which was more the result of an unfortunate boat stumble, and an innovative use of carrier bags as insulating footwear… A great trip was had by all, and my top tip for a successful Spey decent? Pack plenty of home baking!

Bike Maintenance Classes on the 29th of November and 6th of December

Outfit Moray is offering another round of our successful Bike Maintainance course in cooperation with Varis Training in Forres.

Based at Varis training in Forres this two session course will teach you the basics of bike maintenance, from fixing a puncture, adjusting brakes and tuning gears.

Alford Academy

We had a great day bodyboarding at Sandend with young people from Alford Academy on the 27th of May, despite the crazy winds. Much fun was had by all, and we discovered a few budding surfers!

Elgin High School

Some three dozen pupils from Elgin High were out with us over their activity week. Taking part in mountain biking; rock climbing; canoeing; kayaking; archery and bushcraft. Some of us did miss out on getting ice creams, though, and are terribly disappointed.

Moray Way Sponsored Bike Ride

We’ve done the Moray Way! On the 21^st and 22^nd May 2011 12 Outfit Moray staff and volunteers completed a 95 mile off road bike ride to raise funds for Outfit. Starting and finishing in Lossiemouth we linked the Moray Coastal trail, Spey Side way and Dava way, spending the night near Grantown on Spey. After 11 hours of pedaling, 10 crashes, 2 punctures, 1 broken chain, 1 bent rear mech, 1 broken brake, 1 buckled wheel, 12 sore bums, 24 very sore legs and 12 big smiles we have raised over £500 for our charity. Thanks to everyone who donated we really appreciate it.
